Los Cortijos is a municipality in the province of Ciudad Real that is part of the States of the Duke and is located south of the Montes de Toledo. The States of the Duke have to the southeast the National Park of Las Tablas de Daimiel and to the northeast the National Park of Cabañeros.
The municipality is divided into two neighborhoods, Cortijos de Arriba and Cortijos de Abajo with an approximate population of 1000 inhabitants, mostly dedicated to livestock (sheep and cattle) and mostly rainfed agriculture.
In an environment of numerous streams and surrounded to the north by the Sierra del Pocito and to the south by the Sierra Velasco with the Puerto de Las Veredas, they offer the municipality views of ports and valleys with a peculiar vegetation.
Its climate is Mediterranean-Continental with very hot summers and mild or cold winters. Its green mountains and valleys along with the diversity of its plants make it breathe a calm and cozy atmosphere for the visitor.
